Description
Mookite Jasper is one of my favourite semi-precious stones. Its colours are soft and its earthy tones range from creams and yellows to deep maroons and purples.
The stone gets its name from where it was first found near Mooka Creake in Western Australia. The Aboriginal term “Mooka” means “running waters” and refers to the numerous springs that feed into this area.
I have bezel set the stone onto a sterling silver backplate and attached a large shaped bail. To reduce the weight of silver and to show off the colours of the stone I have cut out some of the backplate. The pendant has a light oxidised finish.
- The pendant measures approx. 45mm across
- The weight of the pendant including the gemstone is approx. 22.15grams
- There is a choice of two sterling silver chain lengths:-
- 18″ snake chain collar style
- 20″ belcher chain.
The photos show both chains with the pendant attached. The snake chain is less flexible and sits nicely on the collar bone. The belcher chain is very flexible and hangs down the neckline.
The item of jewellery is packaged in a kraft card jewellery box with foam inserts and an anti tarnish strip.
