Pyrite Gemstone Stud Earrings

£50.00

Heavy weight sterling silver stud earrings set with Chalcopyrite gemstones.

Description

The gemstone used in these earrings is a Chalcopyrite.  It is a combination of two crystals, Pyrite (aka fools gold) and a chlorite mineral known as black shist.  The trade name, Apache Gold (named in reference to the Apache Indians who lived in Arizona and where the stone was mined originally, and the gold color of the pyrite).

This stone is also called the ‘Healer Stone’.  It is a positive stone and is said to increase happiness and believe in oneself.  Chalcopyrite is also said to assist one in finding lost objects!

I created a sterling silver bezel cup from 0.4mm silver sheet and used thick 1.5mm wire for the stud posts.  The butterfly clips on the back of the earrings are larger and wider than the normal size clips in order to hold the button earrings securely to the ear.

  • Each earring measures 19mm diameter by 4mm deep.
  • Each earring weighs approx. 5.14 grams.
  • The photos are a representation of the finished earrings.

The item of jewellery is packaged in a kraft card jewellery box with foam inserts and an anti tarnish strip.
